Hypnosis for Fears

Maybe you’ve turned down a trip because of the flight. Put off a medical appointment because of needles. Or felt your heart pound at the thought of speaking in front of a group.

Fears like these can quietly shape your life, steering what you do and what you avoid. The good news is that fear is a learned response, and what’s learned can change.

Fears I help with

  • Flying, from booking the ticket to turbulence
  • Needles, blood tests, vaccines and dental work
  • Heights, bridges, balconies and ladders
  • Public speaking and presentations
  • Driving, including highways or after an accident
  • Animals and insects, such as dogs, spiders or bees
  • Enclosed spaces, elevators and MRI scans

If your fear isn’t listed, get in touch. The same approach works for most specific fears.

Why fear feels so automatic

When you face something you fear, your body reacts before your thinking mind can step in: racing heart, tight chest, the urge to escape. You might know logically that you’re safe, but that knowledge doesn’t reach the part of you that’s reacting.

Hypnosis works directly with that automatic response.

How hypnosis helps

In a relaxed hypnotic state, we can:

  • Calm the alarm response, so your body stops treating the situation as danger
  • Rehearse calmly, picturing yourself handling the situation with ease
  • Ease old memories that may have started the fear, without you needing to relive them
  • Give you simple tools, like breathing and anchoring techniques you can use in the moment

The aim is for you to feel calm and in control in the situations that used to stop you.
